Hard to believe that MAY and JUNE are the only months left of school–5 weeks!!  Lots happening, so will list some of them….

TUESDAY, MAY 15th–SPRING SING (FORMERLY SPRING SPECTRUM)..AT 7 P.M. in the GYM.  Meet in the classroom by 6:45, the latest!!  Parents, our GRADE 6 class will be participating/singing THREE songs!!  COME AND ENJOY!

FRIDAY, MAY 18th–CRAZY HAT DAY!!  Miss Evans will be awarding a prize to the top CRAZY HAT in each class!!  SO COME AND HAVE FUN–CASUAL DRESS, NO UNIFORMS TODAY!!

MONDAY, MAY 21st–NO SCHOOL, VICTORIA DAY

WEDNESDAY, MAY 23rd–TRACK MEET IN BURNABY– 12 of our class will be participating!!  DO A GREAT JOB, GUYS!!

FRIDAY, MAY 25th–PRO-D DAY–NO SCHOOL FOR YOU (but Miss Warden will be here!!!)

WEDNESDAY, MAY 30TH–FIELD TRIP WITH MR CLIFF’S CLASS TO STAVE LAKE POWERHOUSE–will be sending info. home soon!!

Since we are studyings the EXTREME ENVIRONMENT of OUTER SPACE, here is a short clip of the  final flight of the Space Shuttle Discovery we talked about in class on Thursday.  It shows it flying over Washington D.C. before it is placed in the Smithsonian Museum.  Interesting!!

HERE IS THE SCHEDULE FOR THE LAST REHEARSALS FOR OUR RADIO SHOW!!  IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT EVERYONE BE THERE FOR EACH REHEARSAL!!  ALL OF YOU ARE DOING AN AMAZING JOB!!  LOOK, ESPECIALLY, AT THE SCHEDULE FOR TUESDAY, APRIL 24 AND THURSDAY, APRIL 26!!

SCHEDULE FOR RADIO SHOW—FINAL PRACTICES!!                                                                                                                                                          

Monday, Apr. 16—1-3 in CHAPEL—BRING PROPS/SOUND EFFECTS

Thurs., Apr. 19—10:30-12:00—in CHAPEL—BRING PROPS/SOUND EFFECTS                                                                                                          

Monday, Apr. 23—1-3 in CHAPEL—BRING PROPS/SOUND EFFECTS

Tues., Apr. 24 1-3—in CHAPEL—THIS IS A DRESS REHEARSAL—BRING EVERYTHING, including your costumes—WILL DO FACE PAINTING, ETC.

THURS., APRIL. 26—TWO PERFORMANCES!!

                 1:45-3:00—PERFORM FOR K-4 GRADES

                 6:30-7:30—PERFORM FOR PARENTS/FRIENDS

THESE ARE OUR FINAL REHEARSAL AND THEN, OUR TWO PERFORMANCES.  YOU NEED TO BRING ALL YOUR PROPS, OUTFITS, ETC. 

PARENTS, BE PREPARED TO BE ENTERTAINED!!

This year, we will, once again, partner with our KINDERGARTEN classes for our SERVICE DAY, APRIL 18TH.  

We will be going to Redwood Manor, down the street from our school.  We plan to hand out little flower gifts, with a Bible promise attached.  Then, we will wash the residents’ windows and sliding doors!! 

Here is our schedule:

12:00-1:00–HOT DOG LUNCH WITH OUR BUDDIES.  Each teacher will provide the hot dogs and buns and condiments.  YOU need to bring your own drink and other snacks.

1:00-1:30–Head to Redwood Manor

1:30-2:30–Serve the residents at Redwood Manor by giving them a small gift and washing their windows. (BRING YOUR OWN WINDOW CLEANER SPRAY AND PAPER TOWELS TO SHARE WITH YOUR BUDDY!!)

SCHOOL UNIFORM IS NOT REQUIRED THAT DAY–WEAR JEANS/T-SHIRT, ETC.

HOPE ALL OF YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL EASTER BREAK.  REMEMBER, THE REAL REASON FOR EASTER–JESUS RISING FROM THE DEAD AND CONQUERING SIN AND DEATH, PROVIDING US A FREE GIFT OF FORGIVENESS FROM OUR SINS AND SECURITY OF HEAVEN!!

BELOW IS ANDY’S LETTER, WRITTEN IN GRADE 5, BUT A REMINDER OF WHAT JESUS DID FOR US!!

You came to Earth and died for me,                                                                                                         

You gave your life and made me see.                                                                                                       

You first loved me despite my faults,

Poured out your love and gave your all.

You shed your blood on the cross,

You found me when I was lost.

You went through inhuman pain,

You changed my life, I’ll never be the same.

You were laughed at, spit on and cursed,

Mocked, whipped and a lot worse.

You forgave my sins and saved me from death,

You helped me grow and gave me each breath.

You love me so much and will love me forever,
